SUSTAINABLE FUTURES LABS – FORESIGHT FOR ACTION

In Future Labs, we work with your company or organization to explore different futures, so that you can act more effectively in the present. The future acts as a revealing mirror, enabling you to prepare for different possible developments. And to choose your course.

The world has become unpredictable. And it’s going through a period of polycrisis. In this context, it is now more important than ever to develop your ability, and that of your teams, to cope with change and uncertainty. In other words, to develop conscious, robust leadership.

At the Future Labs, we compare your organization, your current solutions and your ways of working with a variety of plausible futures, in order to..:

  • shed light on your strengths and vulnerabilities, your risks and opportunities.
  • make visible solutions that are obvious today, but which may appear quite dangerous in the future.
  • bring out the new solutions that can become the pivotal points around which we reinvent ourselves tomorrow.
  • strengthen your leadership and courage to act
  • strengthen the cohesion of your teams and their action towards a desirable future

In terms of methodology, we mobilize the classic tools of foresight, such as..:

  • the hunt for preconceived ideas
  • analysis of the forces driving change (current trends, weak signals for the future, etc.).
  • break-up hypotheses (what if…)
  • prospective scenarios and the representation of your organization’s or company’s life in these futures
  • work on the emotions aroused by these different possible futures
  • identifying key issues and their impact on your project

Our aim is to help you, with kindness and clarity, to ask the questions that bother you and to tackle them without taboos within your teams. Your employees will learn to prepare for all futures and to open up their imagination, but also, and above all, to choose a course. What do you want to contribute as a company and organization? What’s the next step that will make your project more robust and sustainable?

At the end of a Lab du futur, you leave with..:

  • awareness of the signals you observe in everyday life
  • understanding your team’s blind spots, i.e. what you were unwilling or unable to see
  • the ability to analyze the direction in which the situation is evolving as it unfolds
  • Clarity on what needs to be done in your organization or company
  • directions for co-constructing a desirable future
  • strengthening ties within your teams and a better understanding of what is at stake
  • aligning the team with its raison d’être

Emphasis is placed on one or other aspect, depending on the length of the workshop and the objectives set together.

Possible organizational formats :

  • Penser les futurs pour agir au présent“: workshop de 4 heures pour élargir l’horizon et penser le futur
  • Partir des futurs pour construire une stratégie durable et résiliente“: accompagnement d’un jour à 3 jours.

What topics do we cover? In all Future Labs, we address issues of planetary limits, leadership and robustness. In addition, we also address themes such as:

  • climate and energy issues
  • technology and artificial intelligence
  • human resources and business transformation
  • materials, their scarcity, the risks of new materials
  • agriculture and food
  • governance

What if, to reconnect with life, we had to change our narrative?

A round table discussion with Céline Cerny, Guido Palazzo, Agnieszka Soltysikmonnet, moderated by Chantal Peyer, to ask how we can transform our view of living things.
What if we imagined what a Geneva watchmaking company employing 450 people might look like in 2040? What challenges would it face? How will it manage artificial intelligence, sustainability, governance and its production chain? How will it produce within planetary limits? The Hub des possibles invites you to a mock general meeting of the chronosphere company.
