The Swiss construction sector is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the combined effects of regulatory pressure, the environmental transition, and digitalization.
Traditional trades are evolving into hybrid roles that combine technical, digital, and sustainability skills, while new roles are emerging: reuse specialists, materials analysts, BIM coordinators, robot operators, and data managers.
- What new skills (technical, digital, logistical, regulatory) need to be developed in the industry?
- What are the necessary conditions for fostering these skills within companies?
- How can these organizations anticipate these changes and accelerate this rollout to prepare for the future and build resilience?
These are just a few of the questions that will be addressed in the training course “Construction 2050: Skills and Careers of the Future.” The ability of companies and the industry to train, attract, and develop skills will determine their resilience and competitiveness in the years to come. This training course will help you prepare for these changes.
In light of these changes, entrepreneurs face a number of questions: What internal skills are needed to address current and future challenges? What changes might occur, and what new roles will emerge? ? How can you prepare for it?
Moving from the Future to Action
That is precisely the goal of Construction 2050, a new training program offered by the CCDC and the Hub des Possibles, with financial support from the SPEI of the Canton of Vaud.
The goal is not to produce yet another report on “building the future.” Here, foresight is used as a decision-making tool for businesses. Over the course of two half-days, participants explore possible developments, compare their perspectives, identify the challenges their companies will face, and, above all, translate these insights into actionable steps.
The format was designed to be compatible with the realities of small and medium-sized businesses: two four-hour workshops, one month apart. This time between sessions allows participants to return to their companies, share their insights with their teams, test certain hypotheses, and come back with new questions.
The outcome: three to five key areas to focus on—investments, training, partnerships, or innovations—and a clearer picture of the skills, materials, or technologies that are likely to become strategic or even obsolete.
Price
Thanks to support from the Canton of Vaud, the training is offered at 50% of the market price.
CCDC Member: 200 CHF per half-day (instead of 400 CHF)
Non-CCDC members: 250 CHF per half-day (instead of 500 CHF).
A 40% discount for the second person from the same company is offered, to encourage participation in pairs.

Chantal Peyer
Chantal Peyer is a political scientist, futurist, and co-founder of the Hub des possibles. For several years, she has been guiding companies and organizations through strategic planning. Chantal Peyer also launched the podcast “2040 j’y vais! ” which interviews change-makers in French-speaking Switzerland and works with them to envision the future as of 2040.
Nicolas Gluzman
Passionate about people and the future, Nicolas Gluzman works both in-house in human resources and as a freelancer in creative and participatory foresight. He also teaches these same subjects (notably atEM Lyon and HES Sion ) and serves on the board of directors of the Réseau Université de la Pluralité.
Carole Chapelat
A chemist by training, Carole Chapelat has developed a strong foundation in rigor and systems analysis. Today, she is a scientific collaborator at HES and an expert in transformation and innovation.
