On Saturday January 13, I had the privilege of talking to Lucille Solari on Radio Romande’s “Prise de terre” program. We talk about the power of imagination, what foresight is and why we decided to co-create the Hub des possibles with Annick Wagner. A dynamic exchange full of curiosity, which you can listen to here: ” Interview with Chantal Peyer, Co-director of Hub des possibles .
This interview followed the broadcast of three “2040 j’y suis!” specials by journalist Gabrielle Desarzens, an expert on the “Hub of Possibilities”. In these programs, Gabrielle and various guests describe the Suisse Romande of tomorrow. A French-speaking Switzerland that’s a great place to live, and one that expands within the confines of the planet. Three themes were specifically explored:
- Urban agriculture in 2040, with a visit to Lausanne’s Place de la Riponne by agronomist Nicolas Bezençon.
- The village of Châtillon in the canton of Fribourg, which has gone from being a dormitory village to a place of life and links in 2040, visited by engineer Marc Mueller.
- Mobility, with the example of Geneva’s Place Cornavin, in the company of Marc-Edouard Schultheiss, transportation engineer.
The transition to these 2040 futures has not been easy…. We had to overcome the inertia of politics, the habits of citizens already caught up in a host of constraints, and tension in the face of change in an uncertain world. But crises are sometimes the source of the greatest changes.
Explore the future to build the present: that’s the challenge we want to take up with the Hub des possibles through a series of podcasts and conferences entitled “2040, j’y vais!” which we’ll be launching in 2024. Gabrielle Desarzens’ programs and the collaboration with RTS were the opening of this series. February will see the announcement of our conferences and the “2040, j’y vais!” podcast.
